What is the Washington Agreement?
The Washington Convention, is a multilateral agreement between bodies responsible for accrediting or recognizing high-level engineering qualifications within their jurisdictions who have chosen to act collectively to assist in the mobility of professional engineers.
What is the purpose of membership in this agreement?
This membership aims to accredit the certificates of graduates of engineering programs from Saudi universities in the member states; In order to ensure the improvement of the quality and efficiency of practice in the engineering field at the level of the member states, which are the states
USA, UK, Japan, Canada, Korea, Hong Kong, Ireland, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Council of Engineers is a participating member of the Council for Academic Accreditation for Engineering Programs, in cooperation with the Education and Training Evaluation Commission represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation.
What are the results of membership?
The Secretary-General of the Saudi Council of Engineers, Eng. Abdulnasser Al-Abdullatif, stated that this mutual recognition among member states of engineering programs will achieve new horizons for cooperation and joint work, in addition to providing opportunities for national engineering cadres to travel, obtain advanced experiences in the engineering field, and enable them to complete their educational path to a degree Master’s and Ph.D., and address professional and academic problems and requirements that will support the national engineering outputs to contribute to enhancing their technical and professional capabilities to keep pace with the global accelerating developments and changes in the engineering sector, and to develop the system of professional practices in the Kingdom.
